Legal aid is still available for advice and support in education cases involving special educational needs and discrimination. We can also carry out court work relating to education law challenges such as judicial reviews and appeals against tribunal decisions. Although only 3 contracts have been awarded for this work across England and Wales, fortunately we have one of the contracts and indeed are the only solicitors’ firm to get a contract for legally aided education work.
If you find you are now longer eligible for legal aid in education following recent cuts and changes, get in touch with us, as we are able to offer high level support at significantly reduced rates for clients on low incomes.
Maxwell Gillott are proud to be the top ranked education law firm acting for individuals in the country in Chambers and Partners 2013. According to the Guide: "The biggest provider for the sector," this team remains a giant in the field of education law. It is praised as being "extremely knowledgeable," "caring and highly competent," and the lawyers "help well beyond the call of duty."
We’re not like other firms of solicitors, who may offer these services alongside a range of other general legal work, such as crime, conveyancing and divorce.
We only deal with issues in these highly specialised fields. This means that our clients can be confident that our knowledge and experience is focused exclusively in the areas that concern them. We work with people of all ages from all parts of the country, providing services ranging from telephone advice to representation at tribunals and in court cases.Tweets by @MaxwellGillott
