Gurvinder Kaur
Having trained with Maxwell Gillott, Gurvinder qualified as a Solicitor in 2008. She specialises in Education, Public Law and Community Care, and runs the Maxwell Gillott Birmingham Office.
Gurvinder has developed real expertise in SEND representation and works with parents and relevant professionals to ensure that cases are prepared to the highest standard to ensure the best possibility of success. One particular example that she has dealt with is working with Looked After Children a key resource available to professionals and carers in England and Wales who are working with “looked after children”, of which there are some 60,000 in the UK.
She also has experience of dealing with Exclusions and Admissions appeal representation and has had demonstrable success with higher education disability discrimination claims. Gurvinder also fights tirelessly in cases to secure support for young people leaving care.
Her more recent cases include dealing with failures to provide for children with SEN, unlawful cease to maintain of statements for young people of school leaving age , post 16/ 19 transitions , securing funding for specialist placements and other statement issues. Her interest in post 16 derives from recent changes to the law.
Gurvinder can speak Hindi , Urdu and Punjabi and enjoys cooking and travel
